Even if you aren't an active part of the film community but you love art and film, this is the space to watch! There is a lot going on behind the scenes for film on dA and we hope you'll stay tuned! Just a little reminder, this group is the hub for the Film & Animation gallery here on dA! With that in mind, only films & animations from the Film & Animation categories are accepted as submissions.

If you're wondering why your submissions to the group have been denied, it is because they are not in the Film & Animation subcategory. We've had to deny a lot of Flash creations, and even some traditional art submissions Please only submit Film & Animation subcategory submissions

Flash Gallery Moderators (and other volunteer mods) can be found in the Community Relations Blog, which is regularly updated, and shows you who is moderating which gallery at the time. This is also helpful if you've ever wanted to send Daily Deviation suggestions for other galleries!

If anyone is still having any sort of bug issues, please report them to the Help Desk.

Also, we've added some more film & animation type groups to the growing list, so if you have any related groups you would like listed in our resources, please let us know!

If you're having any other issues or concerns about anything, please let us know! Hardware, software, file conversions, editing, whatever Chances are someone here has a pearl of wisdom to share!!

For information on music you CAN use in your films, and what constitutes instant removal of films, please see this blog.


If you've applied for film privileges or are considering applying, please note that there is a large increase in applications, and it may take UP TO A MONTH or more for your application to be either approved or rejected. The key here is patience. Please have a hearty helping. Hey, if you want the privileges, you gotta play the waiting game! It's worth it. The key here is patience, as you WILL be notified if you get them or not.

Applications do not go to this group, or to any of your film gallery moderators, fyi.

You WILL be notified whether or not you get privileges, so please only send ONE application, and then have some patience If you send more than one application, it slows down the process and generally bogs things up D:

If the sample material you send in your application is 100% your own creation (music, images, etc.) then you're pretty much in. AMVs and the like are not allowed under US Copyright Law or deviantART policy. It's very easy to get film privileges, you just gotta be patient and mindful of obeying copyright law.
